Applications are invited from eligible Candidates for the post of Process Operators/ Technicians on Contract Basis for a period of 3 years.

Qualification &Experience (As on the date of notification) : Degree in Chemistry / Industrial Chemistry or Diploma in Chemical Engineering/Chemical Technology and 2 years post qualification experience in the operation of a large Fertilizer/Chemical/ Petrochemical Plant. Successfully completed Apprenticeship in FACT under AOCP (for those with Degree in Chemistry) and Technician Apprenticeship (for those with diploma in Chemical Engineering /Technology) will be treated as experience.
Consolidated pay (Likely to be revised) : Initial appointment will be on consolidated pay of Rs.7,000/- p. m during 1st year, Rs.8,000/- p.m. during 2nd year, and Rs.9,000/- p.m. during 3rd year.
In the absence of candidates with the prescribed experience, we may consider candidates with one to two years experience on a lower consolidated pay of Rs.6,000/- pm during 1st year, Rs.7,000/- pm. during 2nd year, and Rs.8,000/- pm. during 3rd year.
Process Technicians appointed on contract basis will not be eligible for any additional remuneration other than the consolidated pay.

Candidates under general category with the required criteria may also apply. Such candidates shall be considered for empanelment in a list valid for 2 years to be utilized as and when vacancies occur.
Age : Maximum age limit is 35 years as on 01.09.2010. Relaxable up to 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC candidates. For candidates who have successfully completed Apprenticeship as above in FACT, age is relaxable to the extent of period of apprenticeship.
The appointment will be on contract basis for a period of 3 years. On completion of the contract period, subject to availability of vacancies, the contract employees may be considered for regular appointment at our option. The selected candidates will have to work in rotating shifts and will be utilized in any of the three production divisions of the Company or outside at the discretion of the Management. Since the work involves shift working, women candidates are not eligible to apply.
Selection will be based on the performance of the candidate in the written test and interview .
We may also consider ex-employees of FACT Schools who left under VRS during 2004 and covered under the scheme for employment announced for ex-school staff, relaxing minimum experience.

An application fee of Rs.100/- in the form of non-refundable Demand Draft drawn in favour of The Fertilisers and Chemicals Travancore Ltd., payable at Udyogamandal (State Bank of Travancore, Dena Bank, Bank of India) should be attached along with the copy of the downloaded application.
The candidate's full name , post applied for and Advertisement Number shall be writes on the reverse of the DD.
SC/ST &Ex-Service candidates are exempted from payment of application fee.
Candidates exempted from application fee shall furnish relevant documents to prove eligibility for exemption (Copy of valid Community certificate in the case of SC/ST candidates and copy of Service Book in the case of Ex-Servicemen). Application shall also be accompanied by copies of certificates to prove age, qualification, experience, caste/community certificate to prove eligibility for reservation, etc. All copies furnished with the application shall be attested by a Gazetted Officer.
The candidate's passport size photograph shall be firmly affixed in the space provided on the downloaded application form.
The duly filled, downloaded application, with required attachments shall be submitted to the Chief Manager (HR), Human Resources Department, FACT Ltd., Udyogamandal, Kerala. Pin 683 501 on or before the due date specified below.
Envelopes containing application form should be superscribed as "Application for the post of Process Operator/Technician on contract basis - September 2010".
SC&ST candidates attending Interview from outstations will be reimbursed second class rail/Bus to and fro fare by shortest route from place of residence/work as per address given in the application form on production of receipt/proof of travel.
On the basis of the details given in the application, candidates will be called for written test to be held at Cochin. Candidates will be informed, the date and venue of written test by E-mail/on our web site.
Last date for receipt of Hard copy of application along with relevant documents is 25.10.2010.
