Walk-in interview for the posts of Assistant Editor (Contractual) and Proof Reader (Contractual) The Publication Department, NCERT is working on a time-bound programme to prepare textbooks and other non-textual material for children. For this purpose, the Department requires six Assistant Editors (English -3 Hindi - 2, Urdu - 1) two Proof Readers (Urdu-1, English-1) on temporary basis for a period of one year.

1. Assistant Editors – 6 Nos. (English -3, Hindi - 2, Urdu - 1)
(a) Essential Qualification 1. A degree in Arts or Science from a recognized University.
2. At least 5 years’ experience in compiling, editing, proof reading, typography etc. in an organisation of repute
3. Proficiency in the language required.
Desirable
i) Diploma/Certificate in any print editing related course.
ii) Knowledge of word processing software.
(b) Age Limit Preferably below 35 years with relaxation as per GoI
rules.
(c) Tenure One year
(d) Salary Rs. 21,000/-
(e) Date & time of Skill Test 10.3.11 Time 11:30 AM

2. Proof Readers -- 2 Nos. (English-1, Urdu-1)
(a) Essential Qualification 1. Graduate from a recognized university with one year experience as Proof Reader in a reputed publishing house preferably in book publishing.
2. Proficiency in the language required
(b) Age Limit Preferably below 30 years with relaxation as per rules.
(c) Tenure One year
(d) Salary Rs 8100/-
(e) Date & time of Skill Test 10.3.11 Time 2:30 PM
(f) Venue Publication Department, Conference Hall, Ambedkar Khand.
The Skill Tests will be held on 10 March 2011 -- for the post of Assistant Editor at 11:30 AM and for the posts of Proof Reader at 2:30 PM at the Conference Hall, Ambedkar Khand (Publication Department). The candidates who qualify in the skill test would be invited to appear for an interview the following day, i.e 11 March 2011 at 11:00 AM and 2.30 PM respectively in Room No 101, First Floor, Ambedkar Khand, NCERT Campus, Sri Aurobindo Marg, New Delhi – 110016.
Interested candidates who fulfill the above mentioned conditions may appear for the Skill Test at the designated time and venue. They would be required to bring with them a copy of - their bio-data with a self attested photograph; originals of relevant certificates and testimonials.
